Jean-Louis Brou Ekpome

Educator, Researcher, and Visionary in Sustainable Territorial Development

Jean-Louis Brou Ekpome is an educator, researcher, and visionary in the field of sustainable territorial development. Serving as a Senior Inspector of the Commercial Department within the public education system, he simultaneously acts as the founder of the consulting initiative GIDS (Global Impact Development Strategy). His work is dedicated to rethinking the role of education, science, and technology in building international cooperation among territories in the Global South.

Professional Path

Jean-Louis Brou Ekpome is recognized as the author of the innovative pedagogical concept of "Active and Sustainable Pedagogy" and the creator of the unique territorial development model, CIV-ED-DEV. His major literary achievement is the book The Phoenix Path: Building Africa's Renaissance through the CIV-ED-DEV Model. This work has become the foundation for a new intellectual platform — the "Grand Dialogue of Renaissance" — which unites African thinkers to discuss issues of civilization, education, and development. His works are gaining recognition as an innovative contribution to sustainable development and public diplomacy through territorial cooperation.

Key Results in Public Diplomacy

Jean-Louis Brou Ekpome's activities have led to three fundamental results that are changing the paradigm of interaction between peoples and territories:

Conceptualization of "Territorial Cooperative Diplomacy"

Jean-Louis has developed and implemented a fundamentally new approach to public diplomacy that goes beyond state structures. He conceptualized "Territorial Cooperative Diplomacy" — an innovative framework that expands the agency of international cooperation. In this model, active actors are not only governments but also specific territories, universities, and entrepreneurs. This approach allows for building direct connections between regions, bypassing bureaucratic barriers and focusing on the real needs of local development.

Creation of the "Grand Dialogue of Renaissance" Intellectual Platform

He initiated and launched the "Grand Dialogue of Renaissance" platform. This is a multilateral forum designed to stimulate discussions among African intellectuals on key issues of civilization, education, and development. The project's ambition is to scale it to the international level, creating a space for the exchange of ideas that can transform the future of the continent and the world. The platform serves as a bridge between theory and practice, uniting scholars, educators, and thought leaders.

Development of the CIV-ED-DEV Operational Model and the PDRT Tool

Jean-Louis designed the CIV-ED-DEV model and created its operational tool — PDRT (Plan de Développement Régional Territorial / Plan for Regional Territorial Development). This system provides a structured and measurable approach to territorial development. The model allows turning abstract ideas of cooperation into concrete projects, supporting international cooperation between territories as a form of practical public diplomacy. The PDRT tool makes the development process transparent, manageable, and results-oriented.

Project "TerraNova Municipality Network": An Ecosystem of the Future

The central element of Jean-Louis's work is his flagship initiative — the "TerraNova Municipality Network". This project was born from the author's personal experience of growing up in poverty, where he realized that education is not just a path to employment, but a path to dignity, hope, and opportunity. However, he also understood that education alone is not enough: people need opportunities, communities need prosperity, and territories need sustainable development.

Scientific Partnership: The project was developed in scientific partnership with the Institute of Anthropological Sciences of Development (ISAD) at Félix Houphouët-Boigny University. Jean-Louis represents the Territorial Prosperity Initiative (TPI), which serves as the organizational umbrella for the TerraNova network.

Technological Solution: TerraNova is an AI-powered ecosystem. It connects municipalities, universities, incubators, research centers, and development partners. The main goal of the system is simple yet grand: to transform knowledge into cooperation.

Mechanism of Action: Through the exchange of experience, innovations, and data, territories gain the ability to solve problems faster and jointly build long-term prosperity. The system allows municipalities, which daily create innovative solutions for local challenges, to share this valuable experience with other territories, overcoming isolation.

The project has already received support from key partners:

Scientific Partner: The ISAD Institute provides the methodological foundation.

Pilot Municipality: The Municipality of Bonoua (Côte d'Ivoire) has joined the initiative as the first pilot founding municipality.

Global Ambition: Jean-Louis envisions the future as the creation of an RTDF Global Alliance. He invites municipalities, universities, incubators, research centers, and development organizations to become co-founders of this alliance. The ultimate goal is to enable Russian, Chinese, Indian, African, and international companies from all sectors to invest in territories worldwide, creating sustainable prosperity and strengthening international cooperation. Philosophy of Leadership: Trust and Human Wealth

For Jean-Louis Brou Ekpome, leadership is not a matter of power or control, but of deep responsibility. His philosophy of leadership is based on the ability to build trust and create meaningful cooperation between people. At the core of his worldview is a simple yet profound lesson learned from his grandmother: "A person's greatest wealth is another person." This maxim defines his entire approach.
